Holidays

With this being our fist set of married holidays, we have been all over the place visiting every side of our families. For Thanksgiving, we went to see Elis family in Olney. The tradition goes, that the boys all go hunting and the girls all go shopping. Fair enough!

This year Eli shot the biggest doe he's ever shot AND his first grown buck! So proud of him! We didn't get a picture of his doe, but here is the mighty hunter and his buck!

Eli and his cousin Lance

All the boys and me!

I didn't get any other pictures, but we had such a good time with family.

One thing I really got excited about during the week was getting to cook alongside Eli's aunt (who, by the way, is a phenomenal cook!). She made everything for the week from scratch and it was all so good!

Next holiday on the calendar is Christmas with my family. I'll be sure to get good pictures!

Lately (long, picture-filled post!)

Well, it's been four months since we have a) gotten married b) written a decent post c) showed any pictures to tell about our life or d) all of the above.

Yes. Four months! I would make excuses and blame it on being busy, working from 7 am - 7 pm most days, cooking dinner most nights, being married, and yes, being busy again... but I shouldn't make excuses. I'll just update what I can!

In the past four months we have:

Gotten married!

Honeymooned

Moved into our cozy little apartment

Started school - I teach sixth grade math in a tiny district (more pictures soon!) and Eli is finishing up his last year at UMHB (hooray!)

Gone fishing

Spent time with Little Sister

Tailgated

Halloweened as Miss Congeniality (and Eric)

Lead at the youth Fall Retreat

And now, we're getting ready to spend our first holiday together (married). Every other year, Eli's family goes to his aunt and uncle's house for Thanksgiving. The boys hunt, the girls shop, and everyone eats. A lot. So that's where we're headed first!

I'll try to take good pictures and make this updating thing a regular happening!

Happy Thanksgiving!

The Little Things

As we get closer and closer to our "Mr. and Mrs." day, we are both just overflowing with excitement! Through all of this excitement, it still feels like we have so much left to do! Trust me - there's a two page list for the next five days!

But we have decided that we don't want to occupy ourselves with to-do lists and details. It is so much more important to focus on what is really happening - that God has brought us together and is now allowing us to join our lives.

So begins this blog - as a way of celebrating our lives together and remembering the little things. Hope you enjoy :)
